JK Academy Trials 2021

Where and When?

We are hosting Open Trials for the JK Academy - to add to next season's teams:

- Monday 5th July (Haslemere Rec, GU27 3AN)

- Monday 26th July (The Edge, GU27 1QA)

Your child can also attend our Monday evening training sessions, on a '2 week Trial' - so that we can see them in a 'Training Environment'; if they cannot make either of the official Trials dates.

We are only allowed LIMITED SPACES at our sessions (due to current guidelines), so please be sure to contact us ASAP if you would like for your child to attend one of our JK Academy Trials.

JK Academy Trials 2020/21

Want to be part of the JK Academy?

We are hosting Open Trials for next season's JK Academy squads throughout the Summer Term - please see below:

- Monday 5th July (Haslemere Recreation Ground, GU27 3AN)

- Monday 26th July (The Edge Sports Centre, GU27 1QA)

- 5:00 - 6:00pm for [current] Year 1, Year 2 & Year 3 children

- 6:00 - 7:00pm for [current] Year 4 & Year 5 children

- 7:00- 8:00pm for [current] Year 6, Year 7 & Year 8 children

The JK Academy trains on Monday evenings, and has teams from U7 - U14 (typically x2 teams per age group, etc)

Training sessions (and any 'Home Matches') take place at The Edge Sports Centre (during the Winter months) & then at Haslemere Recreation Ground (during the Summer months).

We also have the JK Development Centre, who train on a Friday evening - at Shottermill Junior School (Astro Turf & Sports Hall).

What can you expect at the Academy Trial?

For the first part of the Trial, players will be separated into age specific groups, and participate in a warm up and a skills session - for the coaches to see them in a 'Training Environment'.

Each player will then be put into a team, and will play matches against the other team/s from the same age group. The matches will be observed by the JK Academy Coaches, who will be assessing each player from what they see throughout the Trial.

The results of the matches aren't important - the players will be assessed on both their individual and teamwork ability, etc.

What happens if you are successful?

If you are successful following the Academy Trial, then you will be selected to join EITHER the JK Academy (Monday) or the JK Development Centre (Friday) for your child's age group.

The JK Academy teams train on a Monday evening at The Edge Sports Centre, using both of the Astro Turfs (please see timings for each age group above) - and move to grass in the Summer.

The JK Development Centre teams train on a Friday evening at Shottermill Junior School from 5:00 - 6:00 (U7 & U8), 6:00 - 7:00 (U9 & U10) & 7:00 - 8:00 (U11 & U12) on the Astro Turf & Sports Hall.

Each team will train with their respective age group once a week in the above slot, and will also potentially get the opportunity to play against other Academy teams and set ups on a regular basis (including 'Showcase Matches' against some Professional Academy set ups) - as well as various Summer Tournaments and other events which we enter into/run on a regular basis.

We are looking forward to seeing a lot of players attending these Academy Trials, to make for some really competitive matches!
